Top 8 Recipes for Mother's Day!

Top 8 Recipes for Mother's Day!

Planning brunch in bed, a sunny picnic, or a slow afternoon around the table, we’ve got you covered. These dishes are bright, bold, and made for sharing with the ones who raised you—biological or chosen. Whether you’re honoring a mom, stepmom, grandma, auntie, mentor, or someone who’s always shown up like a parent, these recipes are made for showing love—deliciously.

Mom isn’t just a title—it’s a vibe. It’s the person who remembers your allergies, your coffee order, and how you like your eggs cooked. It’s the person who texts “home safe?” at midnight and somehow always has snacks on hand.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating every version of “Mom”—from grandmas and godmothers to aunties, mentors, chosen family, and the everyday caretakers who show up, day in and day out. Whoever your “Mom” is, they deserve more than a last-minute bouquet. They deserve something homemade, from the heart—and yes, from the spice rack.

    That’s where we come in.

We’ve rounded up 8 of our favorite recipes for a Mother’s Day menu that’s comforting, colourful, a little unexpected, and a lot delicious. Think savoury brunch stars, springy sweets, and bold flavours that turn everyday ingredients into something worth gathering around.

Whether you’re planning breakfast in bed, a full family brunch, or a quiet moment with someone who matters, these recipes are designed to make it easy to cook something special (and avoid that last-minute scramble). Because the people who take care of everyone else deserve to be taken care of too.

So grab your apron, crank up your playlist, and get ready to serve up some love—with a side of chai cake or maybe just the best crab cake Mom’s ever had.

    Spicewalla's Mother's Day Menu

Mother’s Day menus can be a little… repetitive. (Another fruit salad? Again?)

This year, we’re flipping the script with a collection of bold, beautiful recipes that bring the wow without the worry. Whether you're hosting a cozy brunch or pulling off a full Sunday feast, these dishes offer a mix of sweet and savory!

These aren’t your average “breakfast in bed” recipes—they’re flavour-forward dishes made to celebrate the people who make life delicious.

    SAVORY

French Herbed Dijon Spring Veg Salad

This shaved vegetable salad is the epitome of freshness. Crunchy raw vegetables are tossed with a zippy vinaigrette using our French Herbed Dijon blend to create a colorful dish that is packed with fantastic flavours. Whether you've got a green thumb or just green foods on the mind, this perfectly lush salad is just what your body is craving.

    Chesapeake Crab Cakes

Take a chesa-peek at these crab cakes, y'all. Stuffed with tender lump crab, buttery crackers, and the classic, seaworthy flavours of our Chesapeake Seafood Seasoning. Fabulous on a bed of peppery arugula as a light Summer dinner, or throw one on a toasted bun and add pickled onions or a zesty aioli for a delicious, hearty lunch.

    Prosciutto and Caramelized Onion Strata

Our beloved Culinary Director Alyse Baca has really outdone herself this time. If you've never attempted a strata yourself, please let this be the one. Sweet caramelized onions are layered with eggy chunks of Italian bread (think savory bread pudding). Add a dash of our Amore Italian Seasoning and delicate, salty slices of prosciutto and you've got a brunch-time home run.

    SWEET

    Chai Pani Ginger Chai

Straight off the Chai Pani menu, the warming flavours of black tea, cut ginger, and whole cardamom make this Ginger Chai a soothing bevy that is comfort in a cup!

Meherwan Irani's chai inspo comes from the street-chai popular to his hometown of Maharashtra, India. Here, chai is often “cheffed up” by adding a variety of spices, like in Masala Chai. It’s more common, however, to find chai made with just cardamom or ginger.

Chai Pani’s chai uses both—just enough of each to create a background of balanced flavours that allow notes of ginger and cardamom to shine through.

    Chai Masala Coffee Cake

Coffee Cake or Pound cake... why not both? This decadent Chai Masala cake has the perfect texture of a pound cake with the deliciously sweet and salty crumble topping of a coffee cake. Flavoured with our Chai Masala featuring warm, spicy notes of ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, and clove. Who says you can't have it all?

    Strawberry Sumac Pop Tarts

This recipe features perfectly matched flavours of strawberry and sumac jam wrapped in flaky pie crust, topped with strawberry frosting and pink peppercorn "sprinkles." And who doesn't love a portable dessert? These mini pop tarts take some effort, but they are 100% worth it. Don't have time to make pie dough? Store-bought dough works just fine!

    Speculoos Buns

When pastry queen Caroline Schiff (@pastryschiff) puts her spin on something, you know it’s going to be good—and these Speculoos Buns are downright legendary. Talk about morning bun royalty, baby!

Inspired by the warm, nostalgic flavours of our brand-new Speculoos Blend, these buns are everything you want in a treat: pillowy-soft dough, a spiced buttery filling, & a glaze so good you’ll want to drizzle it on everything.

Whether you’re baking for brunch, dessert, or just because, these buns are guaranteed to be the star of the table.

    Golden Milk Peach Upside-down Cake

Imagined by our wildly creative Culinary Director, Alyse Baca, this recipe is inspired by two classic cakes, creating a fusion of Lebanese and Southern baking that will blow your mind.

While Upside-down cake is as American as apple pie, you may be wondering what a "sfouf" is.  A Sfouf is a traditional Lebanese turmeric cake that's similar to cornbread in texture and meant to be served with coffee or tea.

Inspired by this turmeric cake, we found that with its turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon, our Golden Milk blend is the perfect addition to this recipe, providing the traditional golden color of the Sfouf cake as well as warming spices to complement the sweetness of the peaches.
