blue ridge public radio
When Hurricane Helene devastated the region in late 2024, Blue Ridge Public Radio's (BPR) small but dedicated news team shifted to 24-hour emergency coverage, delivering life-saving information about food, shelter, and other necessities in English and Spanish. The storm caused historic damage, and BPR continues to report on its far-reaching impact while uplifting stories of resilience and recovery. Now in its 45th year, BPR remains committed to informing, inspiring, and connecting communities across the mountains through deep listening, diverse storytelling, and a mission rooted in public service. BPR serves the Western North Carolina community, including all 14 counties.

MANNA FOODBANK
On September 27th, 2024, Hurricane Helene completely devastated MANNA FoodBank’s facilities and operations. With the help of hundreds of incredible volunteers and dedicated staff, MANNA was able to immediately activate their disaster response plans, begin a food distribution in a central location within 2 days, and secure an emergency lease for an 84,000-square-foot existing warehouse by the end of the first week (which has now been purchased). MANNA is anticipating exponential growth in the need for food across WNC due to loss of livelihood and damages to land, residences, and vehicles. Many of our agency partners suffered catastrophic damage as a result of the storm as well. MANNA is currently serving an average of 160,000+ people monthly across WNC.
Every product I’ve received from this company is a pleasure to open and try. So fresh, smells and tastes wonderful. A delight to your senses!
this is so good for so many things. I don't make or eat pie anymore, but it was great in some cooked apples and I just put some on my sweet potatoes this evening.
I plan to use it soon, was sad to see that it also has allspice. When I ordered it, I thought it had only the other 4 ingredients. Hopefully your area is recovering and may the Lord watch over you all.
I sprinkled it on applesauce and it was pie without crust. Yum
Just received it. I’m glad it was released again this year, but the small tin is tiny. Last year it was a full size tin.
