Perfect balance of heat and sweet. Used it in a cookie recipe recently and it was everything I could dream, and more! Also love to shake a little in my latte to treat myself. It's sweet, spicy, perfection.
This tastes great but hoooo boy does it mess up my insides. Shortly after drinking I had a moment of nauseated terror, unsure which end of my digestive tract was about to be blown up. I stumbled to the bathroom and proceeded to toot no less than 40 times. A few days later my partner tried the hot chocolate too. He was soon nauseated and positively levitating from gas (his words, not mine) for several hours. We found the whole experience hilarious and have considered gifting this hot chocolate to our enemies. It is lovely hot chocolate with a real spicy kick, and my partner insists that he will continue drinking it (I am not that brave). But buyer, beware.
I have had Mexican Hot Chocolate before. I was not prepared for the heat and spicy ness of this one. The directions say to add 2 TBSP to 80z of milk. When I make it again, I think I will cut it back to 1 TBSP and see if that helps.
