Mumbai Street Chai is our take on the chai poured at street stalls across Mumbai and comes straight from our sister restaurant, Chai Pani. It’s strong CTC black tea with ginger and cardamom, made to simmer in milk until it turns the color of caramel. Golden Milk is the evening cup. It blends turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, roasted coriander, and black pepper, with zero caffeine, so 9 pm is fair game!
What’s Inside
Mumbai Street Chai: Bold CTC black tea with ginger and cardamom. Simmer it with milk on the stove, sweeten it, and pour it through the strainer.
Golden Milk:Warm 1 teaspoon in 1 cup of milk or a dairy-free alternative over low heat for about 3 minutes, without letting it boil. Strain it if you like it smooth, then sweeten to taste.
Signature Sugars 3-Pack:Salted Honey made with granulated honey and flake sea salt, Vanilla Bean Sugar made with real vanilla bean, and Maple French Toast Sugar with maple sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Try a pinch of Salted Honey in golden milk and Vanilla Bean in chai.
Metal Tea Strainer: It catches the tea leaves from the chai and any spice that settles in the golden milk.
This basket is hand-packed and wrapped (bows included)! It comes exactly as pictured: packed in a gold wire basket and wrapped in cellophane with a bow. We made a limited run for the holidays, and when it’s gone, it’s gone.
