Savory Herb

Sometimes called “summer savory,” this woody plant is similar to thyme and has a heavy perfume when crushed or crumbled. A member of the mint family, the plant originated in the Mediterranean before making its way to Europe. It is now used in well-known French herb blends such as fines herbes and herbes de Provence. True to its name, savory goes especially well with salty dishes, like grilled meat.
